Pump and DumpWelcome to today’s Pump and Dump Alerts, where we will be exposing these two companies:  TaxMasters (TAXS) and Atheronova (AHRO).

Here we identify a few of the “bogus” promotions going on in penny stocks today.

Without further ado, here are today’s “disasters waiting to happen”:

TaxMasters (TAXS) 

TaxMasters is a company assisting taxpayers with IRS problems.  TAXS specializes in the resolution of disputes and assessments, and the settlement of tax liabilities. 

Shares of this penny stock currently trade near $0.16.

Research Driven Investor was paid $50,000 to pump shares of TAXS.

Atheronova (AHRO)

Atheronova is an early stage biotech firm focusing on the discovery, research, and development of compounds designed to reduce atherosclerotic plaque deposits.  For the three months ending September 2011, AHRO posted a $3.9 million loss.

Shares of AHRO trade around $1.02.

OTC Penny Picks was paid $16,000 to hype shares of AHRO.

A final word (and warning).

These are just a few of the current inglorious “pump and dumps”.
